Andrew asked out Gabby after work one evening for dinner. The plan was to go to a nice restaurant, but the couple ended up talking in Gabby’s car until 3am instead! Since then they have been enjoying life together.
After dating for two years, Andrew and Gabby planned a trip together to visit London, England for Gabby’s spring break while she was in graduate school. After going to St. Paul’s Catholic Church for Sunday mass, they went to brunch and then walked back through the garden at St. Paul’s. Andrew wanted to propose here and handled his phone to an Italian man and whispered in his ear he was about to propose and to take the photo. Unfortunately, the man didn’t speak English, so he only got one photo and quickly gave the camera back before walking away. So Andrew was left proposing anyway, this time without a photo. But Gabby didn’t care and said yes!
Andrew and Gabby’s glamouros Kentucky wedding was on a warm and sunny day in Lexington. The girls got ready in an airbnb located in downtown Lexington. Gabby looked radiant and glowing in her full ball gown style dress covered in intricate beadwork from The White Dress of Lexington. Her bouquet was made by her and her mother and full of vintage brooches and jewelry. Her bridesmaid’s wore soft gray gowns purchased from Azazie. Andrew looked classic in a black suit accented with a black bow tie, from Men’s Warehouse.
The ceremony was at the couple’s church in Lexington, Saint Peter Catholic Church, where they had a full mass ceremony. The couple decided against a first look, but did have a moment before the ceremony to pray together. Family photos were taken in the church at the alter and some portraits and wedding party portraits were taken outside the church and in the church garden.
Their reception followed inside the Spring Valley Golf Club. The tables were decorated with white linens and pink accents, with sparkling floral centerpieces and mirror table numbers. They also had a beautiful cake made by Tinker’s Cake Shop for their guests to enjoy after a buffet meal provided by Dottie's Catering. They also had donuts for their guests from Doughdaddy’s Doughnuts in Versailles, Ky.
Gabby and Andrew had a lovely first dance and after Gabby had a special dance with her mother.
The couple were able to enjoy their reception with family and friends because of their DJ, a friend of the couple’s and an old high school mate of Andrew. Andrew had originally wanted a mariachi band to come to their wedding, but at the last minute his band fell through, so instead the DJ got their friends to come up and sing with Andrew some punk songs they had written in high school. Andrew & Gabby ended the night partying and dancing the night away with their closest friends!
